When my voyager was off the road after a shunt up the backside the insurace company gave me a replacement vehicle which was a skoda octavia

Bright yellow it was, one of the famous actresses I take said she did not mind but she did hope nobody recognised her in it

I think if you are just doing minicab or taxi work these are good, economical, cheaper to insure, and surprisingly have a huge boot, however I was not impressed enough to add one to my fleet.

Kind regards

Hi TDO newbie, been lurking for a few weeks, lotsa good advice on here, certainly helped me, I'm just about to start PH in renfrewshire (just waiting on car being plated).

have long been a co car driver and have plenty of VAG cars recently, last one audi a4 avant 130tdi sport, lovely car, wanted a change (nearly went for a superb)but for PH work I bought an exdemo Honda accord exec diesel (saloon) great refinement and economy, plus leather heated seats, as well as climate etc it also has leccy sunroof which I like for light, as for rain sensing wipers it's a great thing, I like others thought this was useless until I had a it for a while in a bora V5 now have it on accord and it's a great device, wip[ers speed up and slow down depending on rain patern, think of it more like active intermittent, don't knock it till ye've tried it.

regards
peebee

Sorry about caps lock on previous posting. Find something more important to worrie about!!! I had one clutch fitted to my omega, borg and beck and my dad did it for me(he's a retirerd mechanic). I now own a 54 plate auto diesel passat, nice car, bad fuel economy round town.

I run an Octavia a Doblo and an S80. They all are great at their jobs and the Octavia has the DSG auto box which is a dream The Volvo was cheap as chips £4k 68k miles beauty (also escapes the 8 year rule in our part of the world) but by far the most popular with drivers and punters is the doblo its praised for comfort space and airiness and I love it because itis very economical. Pity its a Fiat. \:D/

The way to go is the octavia with DSG auto it is a fantastic box, cross between auto and manual. It drives like an auto but through clever gadgetry it returns faster 0 to 60 times than the manual version and also returns about 47 round town and ive seen 60 plus on the airport run.WAY TO GO.

What is this DSG auto box. Is it in the A5 model only or can you get it in the A4 model too?

Direct Shift Gears its a box of tricks with two shafts and two electronicaly opperated clutches. Odd gears on one shaft and Even gears on the other meaning when one gear is being used it has already selected the next gear to be used in preperation for the change. It can be used in full auto or sequential mode. In short I get about 57 - 60 mpg on a long run and 47 - 50 around town . !!!! sweat
