Hi Chaps
I am terribly confused please guide me.
I wanted to buy or Lease TX1 as it is traditional and attracts tourists easily but cannot afford it.
I have to have WAV so i can get HC lic from my council so Fiat Doblo is the answer *(costwise) and fowlersmotors.co.uk was the place i was going to go but reading here about Doblo and Fowlers motors have confused me a lot.
Please can you all help me to direct other cheap reasonable options .
I shall be grateful for all of you.

I'm not sure there is a problem with the Doblo, it's just that some folks have had issues with Fowlers.

Get a price form the Taxi Centre and Cab Direct.

Always thought the Doblo was a stupid idea for a Hackney WAV, especially the rear wheechair loading, cant imagine drivers behind you want to leave a 6 foot gap whenever they're behind you on a rank!

They don't. You draw forward a bit to use the ramp

Don't take any notice of the price on Cab Direct's web site, the one they are advertising is a 1.3, it's not powerful enough you've got to get the 1.9 diesel version, if you want electric windows and air con you'll be looking around the £13,000 mark.

So it is not good idea then. Taxi ranks here in stratford are too small anyway .how about Fiat Freedom ?
Is it economical and reliable ?
Thanks for your help and replies all you gents.

It doesn't. They generally take the front cab here.
Wheelchair jobs off a rank are rarer than rocking horse sh*t anyway.

BTW, how does a side loader manage when the pavement space is limited? or the pavement is on the wrong side? :?

They always take the front cab here too but judging by many posters around here thats not the case everywhere.

Luckily down here all the major working ranks are placed with the pavement the right side.
