You will see older Black Cabs in London. Some of the drivers are buried with the same cab they started with.

On Wirral the oldest are probably G and H reg FX4s now, but up until about a year ago there was a 1973 'L' FX4 working daily.

3 Age Restrictions
3.1 Vehicles will be licensed up to a maximum vehicle age of ten years taken
from the original date of manufacture as declared on the V5 Vehicle
Registration Document, providing that all licensing criteria are met.
3.2 It is the intention of Transport for London to eventually reduce the overall
age of the private hire fleet in London by reducing, over time, the entry
age of a vehicle considered for licensing. The calculation of the age of a
vehicle will be taken from the original date of manufacture as declared on
the V5 Vehicle Registration Document. Any changes to age restrictions
would be introduced after further consultation.
3.3 Classic vehicles or those that are considered to be of historic interest may
be exempted from this condition by the licensing authority after approval
of an application for such an exemption.
3.4 There is scope to allow some degree of flexibility if an aged vehicle is
proved to be particularly well maintained or is kept in a particularly good
condition. The licensing authority may decide to grant this concession.
Vehicles that are more than ten years old, taken from the first date of
registration with the DVLA, will be subjected to a third MOT and
separate corrosion inspection each year.

Some of these must be "Classics"
