The Skoda, due to it having twice the rear leg room and believe it or not a bigger boot area, go with the 140 CR, if you can find one the SE much more equipment and you can add a Columbus media system if one not in the car |

The 1.9 is bullet proof, I have it in mine, pus if the DMF goes its only £320 for a complete single clutch system, instead of £800 plus the fitting, im averaging 45 mpg up to 70 mpg on a long steady run |

Passat over the Skoda any day of the week, you'll find they're cheaper than the Skoda's due to Skoda hiking their prices up because of the popularity. Look at the prices for the Passat and Skoda's and see the price difference for the same car. |

I know Skodas/VW arent the same but when i had a Citroen Relay (Fiat built PSA product) the spares were different prices for identical items at the three dealers (Citroen, Fiat, Peugeot) that sold the same van rebadged, Pug being the dearest with Fiat holding the best stocks, Ford are obviously way out in front for parts price, availability and even DIY fixing (inc diagnostics) |

Many parts come in cheaper than Fords. |

Problem is getting a garage to use MY choice of supplier not theirs, if im fitting something with no panic, fine, if im off the road the garage rings euro car parts...(or a main dealer) |
