We have an Auris diesel and are very pleased with it. We looked at the hybrid version but decided that the additional cost against the increased MPG did not make sound economic sense. |

Cheers.The one I've seen is 4 year old and the cost is around the same as a non-hybrid. Looking at the reviews the only complaint seems to be a high revving auto box and the fact they only do about 2 miles on battery before the engine kicks in. |

Find a low mileage diesel Octavia or superb they will last longer |

The Ampera has a petrol engine that never drives the wheels, why a petrol and not a diesel i dont understand (for a glorified generator) nor a LPG option indeed, like many generators in fact http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2012-VAUXHALL ... 462589cee2 |

I've already posted a thread on here about the Toyota Auris Hybrid; I ran a new one on lease for 2 years. Basically a good car, doesn't do as many mpg as it should in a rural area 56mpg; servicing every 10,000 miles is a pain; space a bit tight with 3 pax in the back; the technology is excellent, and a good reliable car. May be more economic in town with more stop-start. Good acceleration. Tyres lasted 55,000 miles! The new Skoda Octavia diesel I more economical on straight diesel with a 1.8 engine and DSG box, over 60mpg and have had up to 84mpg on a couple of runs. |

I see Toyota are offering the new Auris Hybrid on TV t £199 a month. At that price I'd get one. |

You can get the estate version from Cab Direct for £64.95 + VAT per week with a £495 deposit. |
