If it's something, as opposed to someone, then I would park in Plymouth railway station and get the train.

well, i did look at that but didnt fancy the £100 return (first class of course  ) and SEVEN hours each way, with a change.

i could be up there pick it up, cup of tea and a natter and be half way back by the time the train pulls in, and then try to find a decent cab. cheaper to drive too.

sorry double post. damn no edit button ](*,)

i'll be coming up the M1, map quest says to take the M621 and go through the middle of Leeds, surely it would be better to say on the M1 (A1) and come off at the A661?

all done now. 4 hours up, 4 1/2 back.

Birch services on the M62 seems to be popular with the local HC and PH drivers.

thought you were going to harrogate not manchester?

I'd go up M1 to junction M18 onto M18 to A1 then follow A1 up to I believe without looking at map Junction 47 A1M and follow signs into Harrogate past Harrogate show ground.

this way you miss any traffic congestion around Leeds junction M1 / M62 which tails back to Denby Dale junction 39 M1 depending on time of day. plus the cops are always on this stretch hiding on the slip road to catch you speeding.

only 4 good things come out of Barnsley.....
dirty coal..
and even dirtier women......
A61....
and M1...

Try getting into central London. Image

And then think about getting the train instead, thus saving on the fuel, Ken's tax, and time.
