Hi all has anyone got a new one of these 2014 on wards. I just got a brand new 15 plate its has a chattering sound from the gearbox when its ticking over. And very loud knock when you release the brake pedal. Took it in to two main dealers and both told me that both the sound are normal they said its just the 5th gear rattling inside the box and that they all do it and not to worry. And as for the brakes it just the linkage making the noise. They showed me a memo that peugeot had sent out saying that these sounds are natural on this model from 2014 on wards |

Quote: its just the 5th gear rattling inside the box No Gear Box rattle should be natural, It just shouldnt happen unless somethings not right. Quote: And as for the brakes it just the linkage making the noise. What Linkage, other than the Handbrake the Brakes are Hydraulic!! Keep nipping them, I think they are just trying to riggle out of a truthful answer. |

get it checked by a more trustworthy garage, I have a new partner 2 years ago fresh out the wrapper and put 100k on it without a single rattle or chattering sound so your new one should certainly not be doing this |

I have phoned the finance company today and told them that the cab has these faults and that I am not happy paying for a faulty car for the next 5years . They are going to make a complaint on my behalf and investigate into it. Now I have you guys telling me that yours are fine with no rattles and no knocking. It had only done 1000miles when these noises started. If they are natural for this car why didn't it do it from the start . Cab only has 2500miles on it |

dealer pulling the other one I reckon. funnily enough I was back looking at partners again this afternoon. really fancy the refreshed model they've basically addressed all my complaints with the earlier models (mainly being too slow and not having a 6 speed manual available) |

Sounds like a clutch release bearing or a faulty DMF |

Now the finance company is telling me that because both garages have said the same thing that it must just be normal for that model. I have emailed Peugeot customer service uk waiting for a reply. I find myself turning the car off every time I stop for a few minutes because the noise gets on my tits. So if Peugeot don't want to know and the finance company don't want to know what's my next step. I can't refuse to pay for it because it will spoil my credit scoring and I need a new cab every 3years and I will not be able to get a new cab on finance again |

It's to big for a Small Claims court, I'd head off to Trading Standards right away. |

All new cars sold within the EU now have to have a 2 year warranty covering ALL manufacturing defects - the problem is proving whether it's a defect or normal/wear and tear. You could pay for an independant motor engineers report (not a garage mechanics report) which could go either way. But if they say it's a defect then you can claim back all the costs for repairs and reports plus compensation, or, within a certain time limit, reject the vehicle as 'not as described or fit for purpose'. |

Watched "Dom" this morning, Skoda Roomster with a water leak after 9000 miles, 5 trips to the dealer who fobbed her off ("its only the coolant light") between the dealer, Skoda and Skoda finance she was lost.... Dom sorted it In the 1st year they state they will take a car back "with significant faults".....without any clarification what that means |

I was going to say similar with the exception of: Write to the garage concerned telling them that you are not happy with the explanations given by them as to the mechanical noises emitting from the car/cab, (send it recorded delivery, they then know that you mean business). Within the letter notify them that if the problem/problems are not rectified then you will take it to an AA/RAC engineer for an inspection and a report! Add that should there be anything contrary to their findings, then you will take further action to cover costs incurred, and any further costs for remedial work from another certified garage. I will be more than surprised if they do not act on that. The one problem that you do have is this; if you continue to drive the vehicle then you cannot state that you feel that it is not roadworthy. |

Peugeot uk called me today and said that if I have taken it to two main dealers and they both said the same thing then there's nothing they can do because they can only go by what the main agent tell them. So when you take to a main dealer and they say its fine because Peugeot uk told them it normal for that make and model. So when you phone Peugeot uk they tell you they can only go by what the dealer has said. THE MAIN DEALER IS ONLY TELLING ME WHAT PEUGEOT HAVE TOLD THEM WHAT TO SAY |
