Looking to buy my first car for private hire.

Options are brand new seat toledo at @ 14k including extended 5 year or 90k mile warranty.

or 2015 plate hyundai i40 estate with 10k on the clock @ 13k with 4 year unlimited miles warranty.

I've got a good sized deposit and can pay the car over 3 or 4 years.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Save the deposit for the £5000 insurance

been quoted 2k for first years insurance which i'm delighted with.

I have noticed that the headlights on ours are really crap.
Headlights are good on highbeam, not so good dipped when going round a corner as they don't light up the edges very well. Ok in a straight line though !
Oh and all the rear lights are LED so no worries about blown bulbs, speaking of which the front headlamp bulbs are £30 but can be got online for £12. Luckily they don't blow as often as standard bulbs, probably because all the electrics are powered by the 'big' battery so you get a constant regulated voltage unlike a standard car where the voltage varies depending on load, eg when you start a car with the headlights on they dim as the starter turns.

The headlight bulbs have a 100,000 mile warranty.

Is that true or are you pulling my leg ?
I jinxed it by saying the bulbs last a long time, one blew on my way to eurocarparts to get a set of wipers #-o £20 for the bulb and £15 for the wipers at euro.

It has lasted nearly nine months though, wonder how long the other sides got. The standard ones in my mondeo would go every couple of months (but they did only cost £1.50).

They don't. I know several drivers who've had HIDs blow/fail. They paid between £80-£120 for replacements.

These "canbus" systems are sensitive, be aware a Hid can upset the whole electrical system

One of our Lagunas has these. Cost £70 for the bulb when it went.
