The Carens is becoming more and more popular in the trade and I have never heard of any major problems.

What I would say though, is that you may be just as well going for the bigger Sedona. This obviously depends on the type of work you are doing, but the Sedona won't cost you that much more and may be worth the extra expense.

A good car though, I wouldn't envisage any problems with the Kia.

Was thinking of one myself but bumped into someone who runs one as a taxi other day and he was telling me the gearbox in his has been replaced three times.
So not so sure now but that is the only bad report I have had

I've heard gearbox[s], brake master cylinders, clutch master cylinders

May be too late. Just noticed this one. Don't touch it with ten foot barge pole!! I run one and am on my fourth yes fourth gearbox in less than a year !!! All very well Kia saying under warranty but its a few days off the road each time and the worrying thing is you know the new one is going to go too !! By the way someone up there is misinformed - check with Kia - if used as taxi warranty is 100,000 miles not three years unlimited as per private car. Though still not a bad deal in that respect. Finally, yes have evidence of other carens having same trouble when taxiing. New model out at end of year !!

The simple way of getting the full 3 year warranty is to not register it as a taxi on the log book and I have now covered 134,000 so far and have only needed 1 screen wash pump 4 side light bulbs and 4 sets of tyre's It just sailed through its second test the service costs are a bit ott at £250 for full service or go to quick fit for oil change at £12.00

Do you have to de-cab it when it needs work to be done?

NO Sussex but the dealer knows the score, he went to the same school as Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder as you will know some area's insist that the log book is changed to taxi instead of plg.
