What gives these people that right.
How can such big decision be made by so few. The only way to keep up with the electric demand would have to be nukier power
And as we all know how environmental friendly that can be

Should we worry about them?

Theyve been making billions off us for years and doubtless as soon as the oil dries up they will have a plan

I bet they have chemists making synthetic petrol and diesel, and plans to fit chargers and battery swaps at thier garages

Was'nt the Petrol companies that was bleeding us dry, it was our own government with it's excessive Fuel Duty topped up with VAT for good measure.

fuel duty is charged per ltr.

VAT is charged on the amount of the purchase.

Quote:
The price of crude oil has plummeted in the past three years, from $115 per barrel in April 2014 to around $50 per barrel this month - a fall of 56 per cent.

Think about it... oil companies could slash the pump price, the fuel duty would stay the same (per ltr) but the VAT would fall as the cost per ltr fell...

Who would lose the most?

Royal Dutch Shell's annual profits are expected shoot up following last year's dramatic 80 per cent decline as oil prices continue to inch up.

The oil giant is forecasted to post a profit of $8.17bn (£6.51bn), more than double its profit of $3.8bn the previous year, the Telegraph reported.

The Anglo-Dutch business is also expected to announce the latest development in its drive to ditch $30bn worth of assets following its £35bn takeover of BG Group. Shell is predicted to report the $3bn sale of its North Sea oil and gas assets – almost half of its total assets worth $7bn in the North Sea – to a private-equity-backed explorer.
