Hi Benny
A couple of drivers in Thurrock have had screens fitted into saloon cars from a company in Liverpool called Cab n CAB, The drivers seem to be over the moon with them, rough cost was about 300-350, if they use the screen for a year only works to about a pound a day, and fully tax deductible,

If Benny was a Sussex Benny, then I would suggest he contacted Radio Relay as they do a made to measure screen for under a £100.

Not going to stop someone strangling you, but looks good at stopping covid getting to you, to a degree.

Scotlands offering:

Taxi and Private Hire Car Application Form.

the applicant’s taxi(s) / private hire vehicle(s) must be licenced in Scotland. All funded vehicles must be currently in operation and must be operational primarily within Scottish local authority areas. A cap of £350 per vehicle applies and applicants may apply for funding to retrofit up to 25% of their total taxi / private hire vehicle fleet, or five vehicles (inclusive), whichever is greater. Operators can apply for other measures, or to retrofit more vehicles. These applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

The following measures are available:

hand sanitiser dispensers and pole mounting bracket
easy clean seat covers
partition screening (Hackneys excluded)
automated UV cleaning solutions for card machines
