Euro6 TX4 (have one)
+ turning circle, quick around town, some customers prefer ‘proper’ taxi
- not comfortable for driver, noisy, build quality is iffy, wheelchair ramp hinges seize if not looked after, ramp extension is a faff, diff can leak or go bad, some parts becoming difficult to source, some faults need LTC reader, timing belt expensive to replace, some cab garages can't/won't work on Euro6

Procab (never had one)
+ probably more comfortable on motorway, pull-out wheelchair ramps under floor
- over 2m high, wet belt is expensive to replace

Our city has about 600 hackneys including one TX4 and one of the new TX EVs.

We have about 25 Ford Procabs or similar Ford conversions. As I said on the other thread the 8 seats is a big plus.

In terms of MPG, I'm not sure.

What MPG are you getting average?
Cost to Fill up (Always used BP Ultimate)
Miles per Tank average till Reserve light?

Engine & Gearbox reliability?

How can stop from Rusting?

30mpg ball park, like I said. The tank is 52 litre I think. I've never run it down to the reserve light - wouldn't recommend that on any diesel.

Oil/filter change is 10k miles but I'd not leave it past 7k. Auto gearbox is a Chrysler 545RFE, which is hardy enough in itself but prone to leaks and electrical problems. The fluid is expensive.

Rust never sleeps anywhere and the build-quality of late TX4s was not good. I found rust in a roof pinch-weld. Also keep the rear wheel arches clear of mud or they will rust out.
