If you have a Duratorq engine, ask your mechanic to ensure he cleans your MAF, and also decokes your EGR (and manifold), pre-Euro4 engines can have thier EGR blanked off, other engines have EGRs of course

ohhh yesssss

flat spot at approx 2000rpm and excessive smoke, and it increases fuel consumption

No I mean a problem with the EGR valve in the picture. Aren't they supposed to look like that?

Ford dont fit a thick sooty greasy blockage in the airway....

odd it runs better without it

the EGR opens at fairly low RPM allowing exhaust gases back into the intake causing all manner of problems
