I've been having some issues with my rear heated window relay on my Fairway '94. Initially it would come on for about 5 seconds, then turn straight off again. (This is from cold, i.e. not after having been heated).

Now the problem has escalated into the relay just buzzing when the heater button is pressed. I have opened up the relay and the mechanical arm is just vibrating on and off.

Any ideas why this may have happened? The interior of my fairway is fairly damp at the moment, so I'm tending towards believing that some contacts/connections are damp somewhere.

I have bought a used (and supposedly working) relay from a breaker, however the problem is the same. Unless this new one is also faulty...

Maybe the switch is dodgy. If you can get to the back of the switch, bridge the terminals and see if it then works ok. If not then sounds like dodgy wiring connections to the relay.
