Blanked off the EGR yesterday. Cab runs much smoother with less turbo lag. Turbo seems to spool up quicker. No surge when on light throttle in 5th gear which was a pain. Oh....and no EML light on. Covered 200 miles last night with no problems, if anything was gonna show up it would have done so by now methinks. 8)

my EML could stay off for 7 or 8 days

get a code reader mate

Got one. Will see what happens

Works a treat and doesn't cause EML light to come on. Fit and forget :p

I've got an E7 2012 Auto, could you post the link, I need to buy the right one for my motor, advice on fitting would also be great, any other info also appreciated.

Has your warranty ran out yet ? I wouldn't fit one until it has. They are a pain to fit on a euro 4 model, you can do it yourself but much easier on a ramp. A guy around here fitted one himself and had all sorts of problems. He removed it and the problems remained, it turned out he'd bent the pipe fitting it and the joint wasn't sealing . Not sure if yours is euro 4 or 5, they may be different.

Warranty is up, it's a Euro 5, Id get my mechanic to fit it but would be great if there was a link to a video showing it being fitted, my EML has come on a couple of times but doesn't seem to affect performance, I'm thinking it's just an intermittent fault, it tends to sort itself out if I leave the cab sitting for five minutes switched off.

The problem is, if it's on its way out, you may still have the EML coming on even after fitting the blanking plate, although it shouldn't affect performance. A couple of times mine came and on one occasion it went into "limp mode" I just turned the engine off and restarted it, the power was back to normal and light stayed on for a day or two and then went off.
