Sounds like the standard TX4 intercom - rubbish. If the intercom is on, the radio should normally mute.

Seriously, no harm in trying a different mic and/or making sure none of the plugs for the dash switches or behind the drivers interior light have been pulled off. And try it with the NSR door switch up/down as it can cancel the dash switch.

I put a custom mic in and spliced into the original mic wires and customers can hear me now. Might have to do that in the back as well as there 2 mics near the speaker in the roof. But only one seems to work so sometimes can hear a customer clear and other times depending where there siting etc its low.

I do like these but they are hard for certain parts and it seems like have ro custom build or change some stuff how to adapt it to work. Got the exhaust custom welded etc but would be great if could find the original part so I don't have to go through it again as the welder were i love are hard to find. Really need to learn to weld myself lol

I am looking to add a 2nd vehicle as a spare and not sure if to go for another one of these or go for the peugeot e7 or the Mercedes vito taxi as I need a wheelchair assessable vehicle.

No the radio doesnt mute on mine either. The left speaker stays on and the right speaker goes quieter if intercom is on when switched off both speakers go loud again for the radio

If you don't need a Euro6, a good Euro5 TX4 might make sense and should be fairly cheap. Plenty of E7s/Vitos still working in Glasgow and spares should be less of a problem with those makes.

Don't recommend a Ford ProCab.
