I've ordered a few from e-bay now, and none of them seem to work in a Taxi. :?

I ordered the little ones that light up the instrument panel - No luck

I ordered the ones that go inside the overhead lights - No luck

And finally a friend gave me some of the ones that go in the 'For Hire' repeater in the luggage compartment like the new TX4's have. Yep you guessed it - No luck

Does anyone know why these led bulbs won't work?

They're all 12v and as far as I'm aware the LTI Tx2 is the same? :?

have you tried turning them around as they only work one way round?????
I have the side light ones fitted to my skoda , I also have the interior and number plate ones if they are not bright one way give them half a turn

You can even get the stop tail ones for yours and the indicators, as I don't think you have the bulb out warning on the TX
Getting them for any of the VW group models is like finding the holy grail

As said above they only work one way round.......................as for putting LED,s in the dash on a TX1, i wouldn,t waste your time. After pi**ing about for ages in the footwell trying to get the bulbs in the correct holes the first time i drove it the bulbs fell out their holder  Needless to say i reverted back to the originals, but only after my arms looked like they,d been mauled by a pitbull.
Oh the joys of modern technology!

Well all the interior is now LED lit.

Quite impressive. The Merc Vito has them as well.

I even put a blue led one in the For Hire sign repeater unit, looks good.

I'm not sure what SGS will say in February though, I suspect I'll have to revert back to the filament ones for my annual overhaul as the PCO hasn't quite caught up with modern technology.

Nope, the PCO don't allow LED bulbs yet.

I'm not getting a fail / stop for the sake of a bulb.

Well put a flee in there bonnet , tell them them that if they are allowed drivers will never have to worry about blown bulbs again and they would make the cabs safer

If they are anything like most LA's, it would take 100 years for the sense of your statement to sink in.

Good for you, all the tester is interested in is, does the light work.
Once the LEDs have been fitted you can hardly tell the difference, between normal and LED ones

Your testers are probably from Dundee, our variety of nationalities work for a German company and some of them are ex PCO C.O's.

2 x Yellow in the for hire sign repeater, 2 x white number plate readers.

I just need two for the For Hire sign, but i'm not sure which one's they take.
