I know a guy that can fix it a lot cheaper than skoda can :D mind you, you could always get a secondhand one from the scrappy or ebay or find a part, either from a superb or passat or seat.
How do you know its a bearing??? it could be the DMF on the way out, if it is the DMF you can get a solid system at half the cost :D

give him a shout and find out how much

After a massive 89,000 miles my Skoda has developed a problem with its diff bearings in the gearbox.

It is 2 months out of warranty, so no hope from those useless tw*ts.

I would ring up Skoda and talk to them.

The warranty is only a piece of paper which says they will cover for a certain period, it doesn't bypass laws saying a vehicle should be fit for purpose.

If you have to pay money take them to the small claims court. It will cost you less than a £100, and if they contest it at least £2,000 in legal bills.

And of course bundles of bad press.

I will slate the vehicle in a future issue of taxitalk.

Is the engine oil part of the gearbox lubrication, as in some front wheel drive motors?

Mr Skippy41 could be right Captain . . . it could well be the DMF.

It's far more likely to go than a gearbox bearing.
