it'd have to be bigger obviously as I doubt if this would power the sidelights, nevermind the whole car

Why not also Place an Ice Lolly stick through the spokes of the cars alloy wheels to make that authentic engine sound when the cars running in electric mode...those were fashionable on pushbikes around the same time as Dynamos were........

Bi-Linguals!!...not sure where exactly Ling is but if your from there and Bi then thats fine, in this day of Equality and Diversity they can embark on a translingual journey without fear of prejudice or of catching an orally transmitted disease.

The picture of the dynamo reminded me.Does anyone remember the little auxiliary engines you could buy for bicycles?.
I remember my neighbour had one,a little engine that sat over the back wheel that had a roller covered in emery paper that drove the back wheel. It was lowered onto the wheel to drive it and lifted to stop.He forgot to lift it at traffic lights one day when it was raining, the roller wore a hole through the tyre and tube and it went off bang.He was so suprised he fell off the bike.

Not sure of the rear wheel engine, can just rembember an old guy in the 70s that had an old sit up and Beg Bike with a tiny engine fitted over the front wheel but i think it was Belt or chain driven to a pulley on the front wheel..possibly hs own madcap design..who knows.

we wouldnt need electric vehicles if internal combustion engines had been developed to give 100mpg instead of 200bhp.....

There usd to be one where the engine was actually inside the wheel, called the "Winged wheel" I think it was made by BSA.Another was made by Vincent, the same people who made the legendary 100cc V twins.
