Has anyone bought tyres on line from a mobile tyre fitter? Are they any good? I'm thinking that the time spent waiting for them is valuable time I'm losing on the road. Any comments?

My Passat did 27k on the original Dunlops at the front, and the replacement Firestones did 25k.

The rears are still the original Dunlops at 55k, and I should get 60k out of them.

I think there are good and bad budget tyres around, but which are which I don't know. So much depends on the car, driving style etc that it's difficult to make comparisons.

I see people have quoted mileages above without stating whether it's for the front or back wheels, which seems a bit pointless.
