Well they do say that some people are in love with their car, but that's taking it to extremes :D

Had to Google that one, thought it was a driving school

In fact I thought Skippy would have been happy when his old girl let him down - a good excuse to give her a bit of a shove from the rear

This time you have my sympathy a bit - I am on my fourth starter motor.

But I'm off the road because a gear cable has snapped - all across the town in second - left it at the garage who will sort it Monday.

Luckily enough someone sent some important letter for me to consider. So my considering hat is on.

Looks like another starter motor is on it's way out.

Still, on the bright side it will be cheaper than CC's "One Use Disposable" gearboxes.

158,000 miles........the alternator failed on the way back to Carlisle from Newcastle - the brave wee thing allowed me to drive the last 45 miles like a man with his pants on fire - at night on just battery power.

Made it home and awaiting the garage to pick it up!

Just get a brush pack for £10 and fit them yourself undo 3 small bolts on the back and pull the old ones out refit the new ones and bolt them up

Good an excuse as any for everything electrical not working I suppose.

My own problem was the gear cables last week. Four weeks ago, on the advice of the mechanic I had new ones fitted - the originals were working but getting sticky. Last Sunday I nonchalantly changed up from 4th to 5th and embarrassingly found myself in 3rd. Tried again and again - no 5th. Took it to the Garage on Monday - new cable had "stretched". New cable ordered and I carried on with 4 gears and reverse. Tuesday it snapped - no gears. Recovered to the Garage at lunchtime and collected repaired Cab at 5pm.

Something to be said for "If it aint actually broken, don't fix it".

A new alternator would have been even quicker.
