I have replaced that nasty little spring clip that holds in the bulb with a cap that screws onto the lugs on the headlamp to hold in the bulb.The cap (LTI Geniune part)costs about £1.30 each. Now it's a lot easier and quicker to replace headlamp bulbs. |

so how is the bulb held in place if you dont use the metal clip |

You put in the bulb like normal,and instead of fitting the spring clip you put the cap on and turn it anti clockwise.It fits onto the lugs that the spring clip locks on to and has the spacer on it to keep the bulb tight. Very easy to fit. |

It was thanks to that wonderful new 'cap' that I now have a new N/S Headlamp. 
I'll stick to the clips. |

hi gbc... did you by any chance break the little silver lugs on the rear of the headlamp unit that the spring or cap fits behind? |

That does not usually snap anything - all that happens is the inner lamp is coming away from the electric headlight adjuster. All you do is twist the small motor of its mounting at the rear of the lamp unit, rehook the white ball fitting and twist the motor back in place. Takes 5 minutes but unless you know exactly what is wrong it will seem like its broken. Without the motor and its holding rod, the inner lamp is very loose. Very common on TX1 and TX2 if you apply to much pressure to the inner lamp when trying to fix that stupip clip in place. |
