If any of you have one and it seems like there is no power and the turbo is not kicking in do not automatically think the MAS is duff.
Her indoors has got my old one an 03 plate it was showing these symptoms.
It could be the wiring loom below the air filter box.
apparently over time this loom starts to vibrate and causes the wires to be come brittle and some of them loose there protective coating and fuse together. remedy separate them cut the bad bits out solder the wires back together and tape up
There is also a small rubber hose about 6 to 10 inches long that connects to the engine near the bulkhead on the left hand side about half way down and has that cloth covering this also can develop a hole
remedy replace the hose
So before you change a MAS check them out
Goes like the proverbial once sorted

Two places to look, the pipe that runs to the airfilter box comes off and cuts the turbo out, and there's another one on the bulkhead that also comes off sort of in line with the egr valve, generally happens when you change the filter, hth.

If it's the same VW 1.9 TDI engine as the sharan and passat, check the air filter box lid is on properly as well.

Exactly, and should you get an EML on the dash, and the car still runs fine it'll be the coolant temp sensor, for future reference.
