Post subject:  Puegeot 406

A word of warning from one of my mates (maybe he is the only one).

If for any reason you disconect the battery, be it to change it or to do some work on the motor, don't start the car for at least three minutes. It takes that long for the electronics to re-boot. :shock: :shock:

My mate had a nice big fat bill because he started it straight away, and f***ed the management unit. :sad: :sad:

I think we can say this for all the cars nowdays, the last engine managment cost me £500 for a Vauxhall. :roll: :roll: :roll:

I had the same problem on my 406 all i did was to disconnect the battery and then connected it again and left it when i started it again everything was ok, probably that was all peugeot did!!

My mate's had this problem on his Peugeot 406 and a very similar problem on a Vectra. But, yes, these problems are becomingmore and more common today as everythin becomes electric.

It's just another money making exercise by the main dealers, and you daren't touch these things for risk of losing your warranty.
