Does anyone know of a motor parts factor or supplier that can supply OE front road springs for a Series II / III Metrocab?

Or better still does anyone have the written full specifications for these road springs, so that I can get them made & uprated at the same time?

I had new springs on about 4 / 5 months ago & they have already bottomed-out, probably due to the hundreds of thousands of speed humps that our dear council has constructed on the roads of Brum.

Are they not the same as the ones used on the transit??
I would take a few pics of the damaged ones and a few speed bumps and send them into the council for compensation tell the lads to claim every time they have suspension damage and the bumps could soon be removed

I don't know whether they are the same as on a Transit; I doubt it, but if I get the full written specs for the Metrocab's springs, I can then compare that to the Ford Transit ones.

If I can get the written specs then that is my preferred route.

But I will give those people a call tomorrow & have a chat with them to see what they advise.

There's always people breaking Taxis on E-bay.

Try there.

There's also a guy in London who seems to specialise in the Metro, he's called Chris and works out of a garage in Camley Street NW1.

There's a guy who used to post on here that Mr acabbie knows, who will have his number.

Or try Mike who posts on here from Taxi Techs in East London.

Thanks Mr GBC; plenty of leads there.

I bought a pair of Metro springs from T & S in Liverpool & then gave them to Albion Springs in Tipton for them to quote me for making two bespoke springs to carry my Metrocab about 40mm higher.

They did all the calculations & came up with a price of £195.50 including VAT for the two springs, which I thought was very pricey for a cab that won't be around in six months time.

So I had the T & S springs back & have had them fitted. The ride seems a lot stiffer now & more comfortable, so that will do for the next few months.
