I hate messing about with car electrics. The window on my fairway refuses to move, there is no powere to it but power to the switch on the tunnel. Is there a relay or anything between the two?.The wiring seems to vanish behind the dash is there some sort of block or relay I should be looking for?. Is there any common problem with these ?. I hate messing about with car electrics. |

The switch will have gone, or the regulator motor in the door. prise the switch out and try then prise the passenger one out as well and swap them this will let you know if its the switch, if its not it will be the regulator in the door |

Sorry,I think I've misled you. This is one of the older jobbies with only the passengers window being electric and only the one switch. |

I was forever going through the window switches on my fairway, I'd just get hold of switch first because thats almost always the problem. Luckily the garage I rent off had tonnes of them off scrapped cabs.

The only switch I could find was a secondhand one on ebay for £15..00p.That seems a rip off to me when a new one is £17 odd. I know breakers yards have to make a profit but that seems far too dear to me. The window suddenly starting working after a fashion when I was fiddling about under the dash.Pulling the wiring out I found the wire had been trapped at some time or another and had an internal break.I spliced a new piece in and it seems OK at the moment Thanks for the suggestions. |
