I hope it all goes well for you..... at times we used to put two batteries together and make it a 24 volt system.... it really turns over fast.... |

Thanx Mr. T, I'd been thinking the same thoughts .. ..I already added the second battery, but for present its wired in parallell ...I used to build boats a long time ago, and we had these massive switches, that could isolate one battery, or give you both (but wired in parallel, so you still only got 12 volts. I was wonderin about a switch that might give all those options plus series configuaration , then I think just get the damn thing runnin first. I'm hopin this new starter spins faster all by itself (Thanx Admin, for deleting the double topic) Thanx for the input (Stainless steel exhaust, made out of old swimming pool ladder is next . . .) |

A diesel making no attempt to start (ie) with no fuel or no glow plugs working turns over very slowly. When there is some sort of effort from the engine (waft some 'easystart' or even spray releasing fluid in the intake) and they spin round much easier. |

If you want to get the thing going.... leave the silencer off.... I know what you mean about boats.... or should we say ships as it's not a submarine..... I got rid of my last one earlier this year... 30 foot wooden ... twin screws.... petrol engines.... it's much easier shooting clays..... no more anti-fouling and corking. unfortunately my mate still has his . |

Quote: If you want to get the thing going.... leave the silencer off.... Yes, well originally that would have been out of the question . . . the cab is actually as a "benefactors" garage in a very stuffy nieghborhood. Starting it without a muffler, would have been disastrous, previously, but my "benefactors", giving me the boot .. .so . . . .plus apparently, I'm going to need to cobble a TIG welder together, to cobble my SS exhaust, http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21978 Bother . ..we'll be wakin up the "upper crust" .. . Beamy b*stard, with dual station steerage, .. . .D*mn . . . ChrisCraft made one called the "Constellation", I'm pretty sure, mostly Mahagony . . . classic crafts, those were . . . I'm envious . . .in a good way!!!! |
