I have a noise.

'It's a TX2' I hear you cry. I know, but this noise is really starting to bug me know, and the garage can't seem to find it.

When the engines idling, it's good as gold, the timing chain and tensioner have been done, the belt and spring tensioner were done about 10K ago, and the rockers (all) were done last week.
All the pulleys are silent in their running.

When you're accelerating its ok, but the minute you slow down and the revs come down there's a horrible vibrating / rumbling noise.

It’s the same if it's in neutral, if you rev the engine and take your foot off, you get the same vibration / rumbling noise when the revs come down.

So.

Does the propshaft rotate even when you're in neutral?

Does anyone know if there’s a history of faults where the propshaft connects via that ball joint?

Yes it does.... and yes the T X 2s do have problems with Propshafts....

Turn the radio up.

If you are in neutral and coasting the prop shaft will turn but I don't see how it turns when the vehicle is in neutra and you are stationaryl. I know that it doesn't turn on any of my cars, that have them, when I am stationary.

The large lower most pulley that comes out from near the bottom of the timing chain cover, and has three hexagonal headed bolts securing it . . . . . what does that one do?
