I have a LTI Fairway Driver 2.7 Diesel (P Reg) and a couple of things have recently happened. 1. I have noticed that the temperature gauge seems to go up and down between just before the half way point part of the gauge and just over half waypoint of the gauge depending on the type of driving I am doing. It seems to go up when I am stuck in traffic and goes down when I am on the motorway. Is this something to be worried about. About a couple of days the Fan belt used to squeal when moving off in first gear, but it hasn't happened in the last couple of days. I have no battery light so I am assuming that the fan belt is ok. Should the gauge movement be something I have to worry about? 2. My front left indicator and left side indicator doesn't work, plus my front left headlight when turned on to either full beam or dipped beam is a funny gold colour and not on properly, the other headlight works perfectly. I have already replaced the bulb with a new one and it still glows a gold colour. Is this an earthing issue? What do I need to look out for? 3. Is it easy to replace the bonnett cable as mine has snapped a few months ago? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks. |

1. adjusted your fan belts as that will cause the heating problems. also check the fan on your waterpump as they often become useless. 2 open up your bonnet and look at were the radiator frame meets the inner wing you will find the indicator and headlights wiring joins there ... check the earth lead.. 3 it is relatively easy to replace |

Any car will run hotter stuck in traffic than it does with some wnd coming through the radiator. As Mr T says the earth is easy enough to find and is probably corroded or loose. You might find its even broken. |
