Post subject:  Tx2 glow light flashing
Every 2nd day or so when stuck in traffic the glow plug light starts to flash if you turn the engine off and restart its ok any ideas as to why its doing this would be great

sounds like the egr valve, try giving it a good thrash and you will plenty of soot coming out exhaust, if that dont solve it take the egr valve off and give a good clean out, failing that get your mechanic to blank it off

if you know anyone with a code reader check the DTCs

clean it out, have your MAF cleaned (if you have one fitted)

if you have a euro 3 engine the EGR can be blanked off, you can blank off a Euro4 but you will get a EML on your dashboard

typical EFR crapped up

what i normally do with these is take them off in the afternoon when i finish my shift, and just throw them in a bucket of white spirit and let them soak overnight, next morning just wipe the white spirit and remaining dirt off with a rag.

They only take about 15-20 minutes to take off for a novice
