Sorry if this has already been covered.

I got caught short of fuel the other week and called into a filling station that I was not familiar with. The sign out side said xx per litre, but it was only when I had pulled up and taken the cap off that I noticed that I was putting in super duper more expensive stuff xxx that is supposed to give you/I more MPG.

So does anyone use this more expensive diesel and does it do what it says on the label?

I tried it over a month and it made no difference whats so ever, still only managed 550 miles between fill ups of around 47 liters

It makes your vehicle faster

I pay £1.309/litre for BP Ultimate Diesel at my local filling station. The car is noticeably more quieter and smoother, especially when starting from cold.

Double Nectar points and using a cashback credit card does offset the extra cost a little though.

I'm paying a little extra over the normal stuff, but I don't fancy paying £££hundreds for blocked injectors, turbo.

I will not go anywhere near supermarket fuel even though there's a Sainsbury's across the road selling the normal stuff for 2p a litre cheaper.

In my opinion it's not worth the saving if your car has to be off the road getting repaired.

Shell fuelsaver is now 123.9/ltr

up from 119.9/ltr only a few weeks ago

im about to try some different additive as we are on winter fuel now and a cetane boost will be most welcome

try Forte every 2/3 months, it certainly quietens diesel knock
