Anyone using them in their old top signs? The reason I'm asking is I'm fed up of replacing the normal bulbs every other week. Do I need to carry out a conversion on the top sign so the LED bulbs can fit in? |

If you're replacing bulbs that often, you should be looking for the cause of these failures. LEDs will not solve that problem. |

Yes very easy to do, open sign remove bulb holders, also remove wiring connector from inside, place a bit of gaffer tape over that hole. drill a hole large enough to take wire through after cutting off the connector end. Stick LRD strip along centre pass wire through hole tie a knot in it to stop it pulling back out solder the 2 ends to the plus minus, connect other end using male female connectors and try it put sign back together whole job takes around 10 mins get a strip that fits right across the full length from ebay or letter craft top signs or just buy a new sign from them with them already in |

I try to avoid them since George Pitt finished some years ago. That guy who's running it now with the glasses on is a prize knobber. |

Also will they work off a normal 12volt like the old bulbs used to? |

I took one back a couple of weeks ago because some of the LEDs had failed and they replaced the LED strip free of charge so I can't complain this time but I do tend to agree with you generally about the chap running it. |
