Replacing the engine with a nissan 2.7 td engine out of a tx1 is a good choice but if you are going to get it done make sure you get it done properly i have seen some proper bodged up conversions cut and welded propshafts ,rear child locks don't work and the wiring is a right mess. I had my cab done cost me £2400 but the lad who done it gutted a tx1 and put everthing into my 54 reg tx2 and everything is like it should be and works like it should if you decide to go down that route pm me and i will pass you on the number and he has engines for a tx2 which i am sure he will fit for you with a warranty less than the price you have been quoted. |

Are there any downsides to putting a TX1 engine into a TX2? |

No mate i had the conversion done 2 years ago and it has been trouble free since i had it done but you have to be careful as some councils won't allow conversions. |
