CV Boots go every 3/6 months on them, gotta be a design fault!!!!

im having same problem as you, did you resolve it and at what cost?

hurray its now sorted it was a drive shaft the offside, the mechanic even took it off a inspected it and said there is nothing wrong with it no play or any signs of wear
, only when i instructed him to replace it and test drove it, it become apparent. he sent it to the drive shaft tech dept for investigation.

need some help on this one. my e7 has covered 130k and suddenly developed a wobble. strangely it appears between 30-45 mph, it shakes this front end side to side and the faster you drive the more it shakes. it fades out after this speed probably center of gravity, I have took it to 3 separate garages for different opinions and none can actually tell me what it is ! they each garage has checked all front end bushes and found no play even had it on the shaker plate. I changed the front tyres and changed them again and put front to back but it still shakes. no brake pedal movement when braking and no play in steering rack. strange one every one seems baffled including me, any one had this problem could they please advise what to do next !? hurray its now sorted it was a drive shaft the offside, the mechanic even took it off a inspected it and said there is nothing wrong with it no play or any signs of wear , only when i instructed him to replace it and test drove it, it become apparent. he sent it to the drive shaft tech dept for investigation.

Normally at that speed its the front wheels that need balanced and the backs between 50 and 60 MPH Could one of the wheels have a slight buckle, you could try your spear wheel on each corner and see if it goes

Steel wheels or alloys ??? Alloys buckle very easily especially after a clout from a pothole., check also the tyres for tread out of line. has been known for steel cords inside to break. Jack up the car and spin each wheel by hand whilst watching to see that the tread/wheel runs true. It's obviously something running out of true when it starts at a particular speed and you can "drive" through it. Unlikely it'll be both wheels so perhaps do as Skippy says and replace each wheel in turn with your spare and see if it disappears (assuming your spare is balanced ok)

They would have been "Balanced" when new Tyres were fitted. Is it possible that they need re-balancing. Something similar happened to me, many years ago, unfortunately I cannot remember what the solution was.

I've had wheels balanced and they turn out worse than before they were done. All depends how good the machine operator is, usually some young trainee Wouldn't think it be a driveshaft....usually just get the loud clicking noise on lock when they go.

My mondeo had new tyres and i had to go back for a re-balance, dont be shy, youve paid for the fitting

You could ask the Peugeot Forum http://www.peugeotforums.com/ I had a similar problem, but not with much wobble, a while ago on a previous Mondeo and of all things it was the sensor in the acceleration pedal causing the car to slightly wobble at a certain speed. Very strange, and if it wasn't for a sensible mechanic, at a local main dealer I know, then it would never have been diagnosed.

Hmmm would never have thought a driveshaft would cause that. Learn summat every day Had my E7 2 years now, driveshaft boots still intact, but I'll be checking them more often now
