Post subject:  whats going on?

the lads C4 needs a cambelt

i rang three garages for a price at 09.30

not one had rung back after almost 2 hours, one wants me to ring again in 10 minutes


am i in the wrong trade?

more like lifes good, too many punters, no need to ring me back

Garage A - Cambelt £250 with water pump £309
Garage B - Cambelt £220 with water pump £253
Garage C - Cambelt £225 with water pump £275

Main dealer Cambelt alone £290

Maybe because it's a Citreon they're assuming it wouldn't make it to the garage anyway :wink:

Pay the extra and get it done at a main dealer when it goes tits up the main dealer will pick up the bill

wasnt just the back box, but also the centre pipe, so thats £150, cambelt and water pump £250 and MOT £40 and insurance £880

he said "ill have to use my overdraft"

It seems to be the f**ked up world we live in these days!
My meter starts at £ 2.60 during the day and i get people saying " how much drive", i get a quote to have a woodburner fitted, taking off the cost of the stainless flue etc ( bearing in mind he gets it trade), they basically want £800 for a days installation :shock:

Now i am in the wrong trade .......................

so im having £90 worth done thursday and the lads having £250 worth done friday, but they still want top dollar for his MOT straight after
