I got an old mercedes c180. The battery was flat. So I disconnect it and charge it up. I re-fit it and the alarm goes off. The key fob lights up but wont switch the alarm off or close the doors or anything. I use the key to disable the alarm and the car turns over and wont start. any ideas? CC |

try turning the key in the ignition, with one foot in the car, and one on the floor outside, you must discharge any static electricity held in your body by doing it while only wearing cotton Y-fronts and wellies i doubt it will work but id pay for any photos of the vent |

try this (serious) point your remote at a mobile phone on "camera" and press the remote button look at the phone screen is the IR working? your eyes cant see infra red but the phone camera can (works with TV remotes too) doesnt work with wireless or ultrasonics to check a wireless (RF) remote you need a scanner and an idea of the frequency range |
