my abs light has come on i had hit a pothole a couple of hours earlier dont know if thats the cause but got it checked out and was showing rear wheel right same wheel that hit pothole so got fault cleared and it stayed off for about a week but back on again any one got any ideas whats wrong will be just the sensor thats knackered

It'll be the sensor mate, disable it they are more trouble than they are worth.

can it be disabled though? it will know if its uncoupled, and any light (EML or ABS) will mean a rest refusal

Yes it can, if a wire or connection has become perished it will flash your ABS light on your dash.

er, and thats an instant fail, some seem to think uncoupling it defeats the fault light

But if you get a length of electric wire and strip the ends and place them in the plug that now dangles down and tape it in then get the light canceled it passes

not all these sensors are simple normally closed/normally open loops, the EGR's on Tdci's for instance require other info than just a connection (or none), i run mine blanked off but that puts a EML on
