My L Reg Fairway Driver has a TaxiCat system. As a private car can this be replaced with a more standard exhaust? Would a standard exhaust improve ground clearance at all? I am worried about ripping off 2 grands worth of exhaust on less than ideal roads. Or more radically, can the suspension be raised at all?

You could take it off and go back to original exhaust, but there isnt that much clearance with that either.Depends how your back springs are aswell.I dont know about raising suspension so cant help you there.

Thanks Blackpool. Rock and a hard place as a replacement is 300 or so... might just have to avoid the bumps and pot holes. I know these guys had it done -> http://www.itsonthemeter.com/taxi.html
My experience is more with the Classic VWs and I know messing with the suspension affects handling etc.
