Put the lot in , it won't be there long enough to worry about percentages [-X

you can get comfort pads from Boots (but you cant get boots from them)

CC, Skippy and trotsky wear the pads, ask them

Sadly the wynns stuff has not worked so i'm told by the mechanic that its probably best to replace the steering box. Can anyone recommend where I get one from and what price to pay? I also need to get a new rear hand brake cable as well so advice on where to pick one up would also help.

Seal kits are available from that taxi spares place in Liverpool.

Used to cost about 15 quid (for my Metro) and with care it's an easy fix. Was only ever the top (input) or bottom seal that ever wore out. the internal ones never did. BTW brake fluid will wreck your power steering pump eventually.
Never replaced a steering box in my life. :P

I'd be interested to know anyones experiences with the cheaper taxi spares suppliers, i'm beginning to think that they are just false economy as they seem to last no time whatsoever!

Replaced my TX1 steering idler at the last test, and five months later and less than 10k it's just as bad as the one it replaced

When contacted about a replacement i was told i would have to send the idler back to them for inspection before a replacement would /could be offered ( if in their opinion it was worn)!

Not much use when you need your vehicle to earn the money to purchase their poor quality parts...............................

I replaced my leaking bottom seal with a kit from tsmotor factors and it hasn't used a drop of fluid since. The drop arm was actually loose, apparently they can be little tinkers to remove. The only real difficulty ws that some mary had broken the lugs off the retaining circlip and I had to dig it out.

I wonder how many boxes get scrapped just because of a leaking seal which is easily replaced.
Then said people get a hold of them, replace the seals, a coat of paint and sell them back for 200 quid. Not a bad profit on 15 quid outlay. ](*,)
