Long shot, I don't think anyone reads this forum on a Sunday. :doubt:

The drivers window got stuck 3/4 shut a few months ago and didn't have time to repair it before so only just getting around to it now.

Typical with anything I don't understand I took it apart and as I undid the 2nd of the 2 screws holding the restrictor to the door it popped out. Then I played with it and it sprung apart into two pices. So now I'm stuck not knowing which way up the two pices fit together and to the door.

I think I will probably work it out but if someone comes on here who can explain it then that's going to save me a few minutes.

I think I know what has happened. The restrictor is slightly adjustable and pulling the window open can cause it to shift to the bottom of the adjustment which means it catches on the metal strip at the bottom of the window. I'm going to try mounting it as high as I can and see if that fixes it.

Well the easiest way to work it out was to open one of the rear doors and look what it does.

What I didn't understand was that the plastic does not press on the glass. The plastic is to contain the coiled springs. So the plastic never touches the glass.

My problem is that the metal lip above the plastic containers has snapped off the bottom of the window. It had 4 or 5 spot welds holding it to the strip at the bottom of the glass and they have broken. I'm going to re-weld them except I'm going to put the weld on the inside as I can't be ar5ed to take the window out, it looks like greif.

Works brilliantly now. The whole problem was that the metal bracket had snapped off the bottom of the window.
