I've just had my PH MOT done today on an Omega..........I failed-not a great shock!!

How does this sound price wise?
2 xfront tyres
2x brake pads
2x front wish bones
hand brake adjust
fit front fog light and electric window motor(that I have supplied)
all for £240 plus £35 for the MOT itself.

Seems quite reasonable to me.

Price seems very reasonable for an Omega.

But what's your excuse for taking a car for an MOT with two faulty tyres

And in what way did the front pads fail?

i'm guessing that they looked ok on the outside edge, but worn on the inside edge? caused by the dodgy wishbones? i thought it was just mondeos that suffered from that one...

but the price doesn't seem to be too bad. where did you take it? i normally use Whites Auto in town.

I've heard that Omegas suffer the same problem steveo. Don't know if it's just taxis, high mileage or cars in general, but I think wear on the inside of the front tyres is quite common.

A couple of mechanics have told me it's the power steering that does that, combined with the type of driving we do (lots of turning etc) but other mechanics have just laughed at that

You hit the nail on the head steve. wishbone's were wearing away at the inside of tyre.

I took it down to Richmond motors, talking to a couple of drivers last night who put me off Whites(they must have had badd experiences in past!)
