 Post subject: heater control valve

Hi,
Got a 2006 TX2 blowing cold front heaters hot in back been told its the heater control valve had a look and there appears to be 2 do i need to change both, any tips on changing them Thanks

Back flush the system see if that helps.

I agree - but does the heater control itself work?

If it is really hard to operate when you turn the control knob on the dash then the heater control valve is definitely cream crackered.

Be wary, there are apparently two types fitted on the TX2, a brass one and a black type - so order the appropriate one if it is definitely that.

It could also be the cable control stuck or snapped - leaving it permanently in one position

You get to it by taking off the fascia, remove any radio / audio equipment, and remove a metal frame.

Be warned though - it can be a beeyach to get the hoses off.

by the way - there is only one valve to my knowledge

Thanks for replies lads as i say i have had a look and it is the plastic type but there is one behind the radio and one by left leg on the side any idea which one it is also they do appear to be operating normally they are connected by a cable the heating works on the back and windscreen and feet but not on the front vents

Follow the cable from the temperature dial on the dash - it is def the valve behind your radio
