Hello everyone,I think I use to be on this site but, my memory is not what it use to be.
I had a sudden lack of power breakdown in my 58 plate E7 2 months ago.AA got me up and running by blanking the EGR valve, since then perfect apart from the EML constantly on.Within the last 10 days its started intermitantly to lose power again but,not as drastic as the first time.To regain power I switch engine off and
switch it on again.I have read other threads mentioning similar prob but,am confused as to what to do.Shall I unblank it after a thorough clean?.shall I get a Tuneup guy on the job?.shall I simply replace the EGR valve? Any helpful tips would be appreciated,THANKS.

Give it a good clean. Also some on the fiat/peugeot forums say drilling a little hole in the middle of the blank helps.

Failing that get a new valve.

It's usually the end of the valve that breaks off. Did your AA guy remove the broken bit if this was the case? If it just stuck then cleaning it may be possible but I suspect that it broke altogether in which case replacement is only cure. They cost about £240 last time I bought one so not cheap and it's a bugger to fit too. It's buried down the back of the engine. Oh and you'll probably have to get the EML light put out by getting it connected to the computer....more feckin' money
