Hi,

This probably seems like a stupid question to everyone but just wondering what the green light means on the righthand side of the dash? I have found a button near the gear selector which can turn this green light off. Should I leave this light on all the time or have it turned off?

Only just purchased this 95 fairway for private use...... wanted something abit different and iconic :D

Found two other switches below the steering wheel to the left-hand side. They light up but have no idea what they do lol :roll:

Has anyone got a handbook guide or something I could buy? Been searching online without any luck.

Sorry if my questions are stupid...... I am new :)

when the green light is off the overdrive is on,usually for speeds over 45 mph or motorways.Keep it on for town driving ext. The other switches you talk about one usually dims the interior lights dash speedo. The other is probably a blank sometimes used for meter. As for your other post mate it's black and probally been sprayed different shades at times in its life so take your pick . Good luck.

Location: Used to be in Lowestoft,now escaped.
On mine the two switches are 1.For dimming the interior dash lights and 2. For the taxi sign on the roof.
I'd have thought any seller worth his salt would have explained the overdrive and green light.

I am glad I joined here now! thru reading various articles relating to the fairway driver, i have managed to find 2 websites which are of great help for when i eventually get my first taxi. (for private use)

managed to find online handbooks to download too =D>

So, when is it ok to switch between overdrive on and off? When in Park only, when moving, when in reverse... etc etc. My green light doesn't come on so I don't know whether the overdrive is not working, the light diode has blown or something else. The black overdrive button doesn't do anything obvious.

Any ideas?

Overdrive is used as a fourth gear and for higher speeds.Such as above 40 mph ish.Try getting up to 35/40 and press the button you should feel it change up and when pressed again change down.Try swapping one of the other bulbs (red or yellow) to see if it lights.it should be light on for overdrive off(town driving) Light off overdrive on

I think (but I might be wrong) that the overdrive and light are fused,from memory its the same fuse that powers the reverse light.
The overdrive can be engaged at any time without damage but its supposed to be over about 40mph.
