Post subject:  Fairway Driver.... Battery spec...

Hi,

My Fairway failed to start this morning in this snowy weather so I left it at home and walked to work.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what spec battery I need? Been looking online at halfords etc but no one lists a Fairway on their webistes.

Hope someone can help

Cheers

In cold weather the CCA rating is important it shows how much initial power is available to turn the engine. The example on ebay has about 750 Amps, thats plenty enough to turn the engine over to get it to fire.
If you have access to an electricity supply a hair drier blasted down the air intake can warm the air enough to get a cold engine to fire,we used to do this with old boat diesels in freezing weather.Easy start or similar tends to make them knock and does them no good in the long term.
I've a block heater on my fairway but now I've moved it's parked outside away from a power point.
