With the Chinese taking over LTI or manganese or what ever the hell they are called now, will the quality of the taxis they make improve do you think?.We are all used to Chinese take aways, now all we hear of are Chinese take overs.
It amused me to hear that Oaf Boris Johnson waxing all lyrical about the salvation of a London icon.Would these be the same ones that him and his predecessor have been forcing off the streets of London in their thousands?.

It will be interesting to see what happens. If London keeps it's COF then thats virtually the only metropolis in the whole country that saves it.As in most cases it will all be down to economics ie; can the Geely make money out of it?,can London cabbies continue to afford them?.If the nv200 comes on the scene that will be more competition.

Not if they use the Chinese parts bin............................wasn't it them replacing a perfectly usable steering box with one of asian manufacture that caused the final nail in the coffin for LTI? Although some will say that was the plan all long =D>

Most mechanical, heavy engineered things from China are CRAP. Chinese motorbike will last 2 years tops. It was Chinese steering box in the TX4 that finally tipped them over the edge from what I understand. I have worked on Chinese built ships and they too are really bad.
From what I've heard, they don't manufacture the cabs in Coventry, just assemble CKD kits from China. Very sad...
