I had already braced the wings of my fairway with some struts under the wings but they still bounced up and down over bumps. They seem to flex where they are attached to the inner wing and some serious bashing with a pointed hammer knocked through the metal in a couple of places.

This was the hole and the heavier gauge plate that I made to repair it.

The plate was welded to the flange on the wing and bolted using the original bolt holes.

Although there is a big improvement the wings still move a bit.The square box section contaption that holds the radiator and the brace that goes from wing to wing flexes and still allows some movement, but now only on really bad potholes etc.

It'll never fly if the wings don't flap....

I loosened the bolts holding the wings to the cross member at the top, pulled the wings together with a strap and winch to reduce the gaps between them and the bonnet and clamped the bolts tight again.I then readjusted the bonnet to close onto the rubber stops.
Result a much smoother ride and no more headlights bouncing up and down over bumps.

Its a fecker to get the bonnet to sit right, did you replace the pins that fit into the catches ? cant get mine to sit right think ill have to grind the bolts to get the catches off.

I took the bonnet lock off the bonnet and freed it up then replaced it.The two bolts with rubber pads on that the bonnet is supposed to sit on were seized solid.I cut off the rubber and slid a short length of rubber hose over each that the bonnet then sits on when shut.Altering the length of these let the bonnet twist slightly as one end was always higher than the other. If you feel the pin with your fingers as the bonnet goes down you can tell if it needs sliding in the slotted holes on the bonnet to line up.
I can post a pic if you can't understand my ramblings.

Sort of guess what you mean but i can get one side to sit on rubber and other slightly off ,as in bonnet doesnt sit 100% straight

My first cab was an FX4 and first thing I bought was an oxy/acetylene welding plant to keep it in one piece. Build quality was shocking and it was rust bucket.
