Post subject:  Intermittent engine cut-out

I bought a 02 TX2 6 weeks ago. It always starts first time every morning but it has cut out 7 or 8 times since I've had it. It almost always starts again first time. I know the history of the vehicle - new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new timing chain - all fitted during November/December 2012. Has anyone any ideas please?

Sounds like someone got fed up throwing money at the problem and flogged it.

I had similar problems years ago! It turned out that the immobiliser was the problem. Try taking the fuse out.

could be the timing chain again even though it's been changed recently.

If it's the same as the TX1 , check the cutout switch behind the front number plate, mine used to cut out intermittently (usually with a customer on board),turned out to be the wires breaking away from this switch. Cured by removing switch, soldering wires and covering in heatshrink, no problems since!
