Having a quick check around the engine bay today and found this small pipe broken. It comes from the side of the air filter box. Where is the other end supposed to connect too? Whats it for?

Having a quick check around the engine bay today and found this small pipe broken. It comes from the side of the air filter box. Where is the other end supposed to connect too? Whats it for?

If you look in the top left of picture, its the rubber pipe which runs to the centre of pic then just stops. |

Hi, the pipe is connected into the side of the air filter box. Its on the left-hand side of the engine looking into it. Looks like the pipe is above the throttle cable linkage. |

for some reason I'm looking at a pipe that appears to be going into a starter motor

That's the pipe that goes to the vacuum modulator. Mine was broken too when I purchased my cab, and autobox was slipping, gears were not changing properly. I fixed that piece of pipe between the air filter and the vacuum modulator and my cab's behaviour improved 100%
