Hi, I managed to source a mk2 Ford Zepher Bumper and fit it to my Fairway after alot of fiddling around modifying the bumper brackets. What you think?

Thanks! Yep the cab is in pretty good nick. Just abit of bubbling on the front wings. One previous owner and 278k genuine miles lol. A few niggles to sort such as overdrive not working and steering box leaky

Looks like it came from the factory.....................maybe it should have ! As for the leaking steering box, I would leave well alone until it's losing too much fluid, they all do it to varying degrees (just ask the Chinese)..........................

That looks good.As for the steering box the bottom seal is quite easy to do,a firm called T and S do a kit cheaply.

Measure twice cut once, get the brackets welded to it in the right place then get it chromed

If you look under rear of cab ,the rear chrome bumper fits differently. The brackets fit on to the two bolts either side that hold the towing bracket on.If you want ill take picture of bracket and youll see what i mean ! Be prepared for a shock when you get chroming prices !

I was quoted around £500 to chrome the bumper of my Rover P5b and that was with me welding the holes in it,grinding and polishing the repairs and straightening it.
Apparently the cost is mainly to do with the cost of taking care of the very dangerous chemicals used in the process.
I'm going to try powder coating when I get round to it,it looks nearly as good and is considerably cheaper.

My 3ltr Rover (P5) had bumpers you could use as jacking points, proper bumpers.....
